Renewing Families through Intercession
House Of Prayer and Evangelization (H.O.P.E.) Ministry Prayer Group
Who Are We?
H.O.P.E. is a prayer group of dedicated and committed men and women from parishes in the Omaha area who meet at St. Cecilia's Cathedral Parish twice a month on Tuesdays. We gather to learn how to pray and to intercede with our Lord Jesus for others and for the world.
Our primary purpose is to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ by allowing Him to love us. By pondering and listening to His word, together with Mother Mary, we learn to hear and know His voice, and are able to do whatever He tells us. In this way we become a house of prayer for all peoples, and can with conviction tell others of the goodness of the Lord.
Allow me to briefly introduce myself: I am Father Christopher Onuoha, a priest of the Archdiocese of Omaha, Nebraska. I was a former member of the Intercessors of the Lamb community until its suppression in October 2010; now serving as Associate Pastor at the St. Cecilia's Cathedral, Omaha NE.
In November/December of 2012, I conducted a parish-wide 33-Day Total Consecration to Jesus Christ through the hands of Mary, according to St. Louis Marie de Montfort. The faithful from different parishes took part. We completed our preparation and had our consecration on December 8, 2012 at St. Cecilia’s Cathedral.
Soon after the consecration, several of us were moved to suggest we start a prayer group to continue to enjoy the sweetness of the Lord in our hearts which was experienced in those 33 days. We prayed about it and the Lord seemed to be pleased with the idea. We also realized that Mother Mary wanted it too. We were reminded of Jesus’ words to us at the foot of the Cross: “Behold your mother” (Jn 19:27). Earlier at Jesus' first miracle in Cana of Galilee, she had prepared us for this moment when she said: “Do whatever He tells you” (Jn 2:5). Like John the beloved, we took her into our homes (our hearts) in obedience to the words of the Savior, to prepare for the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart which begins first in our hearts, one soul at a time.
Our discernment bore the fruit of H.O.P.E. Ministry prayer group.
So H.O.P.E. is indeed our Blessed Mother’s prayer group as we fondly call it. She is the Mediatrix of all graces, and the Perfume of Heaven for all of us redeemed in the Blood of the Cross of Christ Jesus. Paul says, that “we are the aroma of Christ for God among those who are being saved … an odor of life that leads to life” (2Cor 2:15, 16).
We all have experienced special graces since the start of our Blessed Mother’s prayer group. We feel inspired to share with one another some of the ways we have been touched by the Holy Spirit and grown in our journey of faith, and how we have touched each other for the glory of God. We call it, ‘H.O.P.E. Witness to Faith.’

Scripture suggestions for prayer: next H.O.P.E. Ministry prayer meeting, October 1st, 2013
Consider the obedience of Peter, the fisherman, to Jesus, the Carpenter; how easy was it for Peter?
What word or phrase or action in the scene draws your attention?
How do I become the light of Christ to provide light to those who enter the Father’s house?
What are the things that block me from fully reflecting the light of Jesus?
Jesus said: “Take care, then, how you hear.”
Do I listen in my prayer? What does it mean to be a good listener to God’s voice in prayer?

Next Prayer Meeting of October 29th @ 7:00 - 8:30 pm.
Our next three meetings will focus on healing. If possible, each person bring crucifix or the picture of a crucifix for meditation.
Below, please find some Scripture suggestions for prayer. Hopefully we are spending time, at least 30 minutes, but not more than 1 hour in daily prayer with the Lord.
You may use a Scripture for more than one prayer period, that is, for 2 or 3 days if it nourishing you. Remember, talk to Jesus and listen to what He has to say to you. Prayer is about experiencing Jesus' love.
What do you notice about Jesus in prayer?
Ask Jesus to draw you into His prayer
